May 2010 Dear Stage Friends I am really looking forward to the IONA concerts in Switzerland. The band performs with new fire and has a lot of great music to offer. It's hard to believe that our year with Julia Emmert is already over! We will miss her. The silent performances of the Spanish Mime Actor Carlos Martínez are always full of nice surprises. IONA - LIVE in Switzerland! The band tours from September 17 - 19 with their Irish/Celtic tunes through Switzerland.20 years have shaped the music and lyrics of this outstanding band. Their sound has matured like a good wine. On closing the eyes you can see the green pastures, stony and rocky coast lines, foggy bays, the land and the rolling breakers as well as stormy winds - all woven into the crystal voice of Joanne Hogg and the complex sound creations of keyboarder and guitarist Dave Bainbridge. In mid 2009 Troy Donockley left IONA - after many years. Troy has become very busy with a number of different international touring bands so he could no longer fulfill his obligations with the IONA gigs. We wish him all the Best! Martin Nolan has taking his place. We are looking forward to hearing the band with its new member. Julia Emmert ends her apprentice time with us in June Unbelievable: In June 2009 Julia started at Profile Productions. And now the year is already over... She took care of our database, programmed complex excel files, helped during our concerts, organised performances with superzwei and Eric Wehrlin... Wherever we needed her she was 100% on the job. We wish her all the best for her studies at the University of St.Gallen. We will miss her - and her wonderful Dialect. |

Carlos Martínez tours the Swiss "Kleinkunst - Stages" Since last autumn, Carlos Martínez has been performing in many of the Swiss "Kleintheaters". Switzerland has numerous local cultural organisations. Nearly every village has its own cultural program - mostly put together by a group of motivated people who gather together in their free time, unpaid, to set up 4, 6, 8 or even more events per year. Some have their own theatre or they use the public hall(s) of their community. These organisers attend an annual meeting where they scout for new artists / new programmes / new ideas: The ktv bourse in Thun, wich is held in April. In 2009 Carlos Martínez performed 20 minutes of his programme "Hand Made". The responce among these promoters was enormous... Two of them not only booked a stage performance but also set up a two-day workshop "Touch the Silence". All those interested are invited to take part! Carlos Martínez is going to teach in ENGLISH!
